During the recent reconnaissance phase on the Frontier Fighters (Slicers) and their expanding operations across Stanton and Pyro, analysts uncovered intriguing evidence suggesting that former Galactic Tour and Whitley’s Guide host Jax McCleary may be connected to the group.

Jax McCleary – A Brief History

Born in 2887, Jax McCleary rose to fame as a charismatic and eccentric host known for his fast-talking wit, bold commentary, and questionable ideas. He began his career as a sports anchor in Aydo, Green, quickly building a reputation as an energetic, tongue-in-cheek commentator with a deep understanding of spacecraft and manufacturers. His colorful personality earned him a devoted following on Spectrum, where he frequently posted vlogs and behind-the-scenes insights.

Over the decades, Jax hosted and contributed to several major shows, including Galactic Gear, later sold and rebranded as Galactic Tour in 2946, and finally Whitley’s Guide in 2950. His tenure across all these programs was marked by creativity—and chaos.

Perhaps his most infamous stunt was the “Tears of Fire” incident in 2951, when Jax attempted to recreate Aaron Fring’s painting using the engine plume of an Aegis Redeemer. The experiment produced nothing resembling art and instead created an enormous environmental mess that remains partially uncleaned to this day. The desperate attempt to boost falling ratings became a defining example of Jax’s willingness to risk everything for spectacle.

The Pyro Disappearance

During the IAE 2951, as Whitley’s Guide continued to struggle with low viewership, Jax made the baffling decision to travel to the Pyro system in search of “new inspiration.” To do so, he “borrowed” a MISC Odyssey prototype—a ship that MISC would never see again. Shortly after his arrival, the Odyssey crashed somewhere in Pyro, and Jax was presumed dead.

Weeks later, however, Jax resurfaced on Spectrum, posting sporadic vlogs about his “adventures” in Pyro. His tales included encounters with pirates, smugglers, and mercenaries, often blurring the line between reporting and participation. He “borrowed” multiple ships, was captured by pirates, and reportedly survived several firefights, including one at Ruin Station.

While it was rumored that Jax eventually escaped back to Stanton, this was never officially confirmed. For years, it seemed Jax had simply vanished beneath the noise of the outer systems.

Evidence of Contact

That changed recently. During the latest intelligence-gathering phase operations against the Frontier Fighters, several data pads were intercepted containing messages between an individual named “Jax” and another named “Blair.”

The contents include discussions about a serious accident, a difficult regeneration cycle, and offers of “primo gear” being delivered to the recipient. The tone, phrasing, and erratic temperament of the sender bear a striking resemblance to Jax McCleary’s well-known personality. At one point, the sender even accuses others of hacking his system, growing increasingly agitated—a hallmark of Jax’s dramatic flair.

While the identity of “Jax” cannot yet be confirmed, investigators believe there is a strong likelihood that the messages originate from the same Jax McCleary once beloved by viewers across the UEE.

What Could Have Driven Him There?

Would it truly be such a stretch for Jax McCleary to align with the Frontier Fighters? After spending years stranded in Pyro—surrounded by pirates, outlaws, and desperate survivors—it is conceivable that Jax was influenced or coerced into cooperation. His history of rebellion against authority and disregard for regulations makes the possibility all the more plausible.

Alternatively, some analysts suggest that Jax may have turned against the pirate groups of Pyro who once tormented him. If true, his alliance with the Frontier Fighters could stem from revenge, not ideology.

Jax also retains numerous contacts within the UEE, particularly among ship manufacturers and show sponsors. If he indeed has access to high-grade equipment, it would explain the “primo gear” mentioned in his intercepted messages—and raise troubling questions about how that gear reached insurgent hands.

What Comes Next?

Whether he is a sympathizer, a supplier, or simply a friend helping someone in need remains uncertain. One thing is clear: if Jax McCleary truly has ties to the Frontier Fighters, it would mark a dramatic and unsettling turn for the once-celebrated media figure. Until his next Spectrum appearance, the galaxy can only speculate on where Jax is—and whose side he’s really on.
