On October 2nd, 2956, the USCS Maelstrom, leading a Navy patrol in Nyx during its Tour of Duty deployment, engaged a major Vanduul fleet just off Levski. The fleet totaled six Maulers and several fighters, making it, by all accounts, the largest Vanduul incursion to date. What followed was probably the largest Vanduul engagement for the USC since the loss of its homeworld. Once again, armed members of the Nine Tails have managed to seize sections of Crusader’s floating city and turn some of the very systems designed to protect it against those attempting to retake it. Under the command of Mendo Ren, Nine Tails forces have occupied key platforms around Orison, established defensive positions, and compromised local Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) systems. These IFF inverters effectively turn the area’s defensive network against legitimate security forces, restricting friendly air access while allowing Nine Tails forces freedom of movement. On September 3rd, 2956, USC Citizens went about their usual business — notably USC Citizen Arthur Cevir (CptNeptune), underway on cargo missions to and from Levski, travelling from Stanton and back. On this occasion, he was flying a newly acquired Gatac Railen, a ship new to Cevir, meant to undergo some engineering field tests with its alien engines. Citizens of the USC have been launching expeditions into the old QV Rockbreaker stations in Nyx for many months now. These missions have repeatedly proven successful, clearing the stations of nefarious criminals—if sometimes only temporarily—while recovering large quantities of valuable minerals and other materials useful for crafting. Until now, most of these expeditions have been privately organized and funded by USC citizens looking to earn their share of the recovered loot and materials. Intro The current debates within the United Space Confederation (USC) all center on the first-ever nomination of a Consul of War. While this position has always existed on paper, written into the USC’s constitution, it has never actually been filled — making this a genuine first in our history. SpaceTomato Stream from the Scavenger Hunter The United Space Confederation, represented by Farrister, recently participated in a scavenger hunt hosted by SpaceTomato. Five teams competed in total, each tasked with solving riddles to find locations across Stanton — flying to discover items, solve challenges, and collect objects to bring back to the finish line. Each team was led by a content creator from the verse. For the USC, Farrister took the lead alongside Zan and me, EtowTheSaltyCat.
