Stardate 2956.06.11
Captain’s log, current date: 2956.06.11. Currently landed at New Babbage again with the USCS Gayle. The ship performed great as usual, flying escort duties again for mining fleets. Once more, we braved one of the many QV breaker stations in Nyx to clear the station of criminals and reactivate the laser to access some much-needed minerals.
The mission was again a success; no enemy ships were sighted, and the station was cleared of Hostiles easily. Although one issue remained, ships parked near the QV station’s pads do keep disappearing; it seems they get stolen by those criminals onboard. As a precaution, we parked our fleet 15 km away from the station, only approaching by shuttle, to avoid our ships from disappearing.
This worked well; yes, I did have to use the Gayle later to move people back to the mining ships, but aside from one missing shuttle, all the ships were accounted for. All in all, the industrial fleet was safe, and many minerals were found and mined. Come to think of it, perhaps we should have a proper name for our industrial fleets.. I keep just calling them the industrial fleet, but, well, that’s perhaps for the ministers and directors to decide.
So once more a successful escort mission for the Gayle; I feel that’s what she gets to do all the time now, while the other Navy ships get to fight it out at the tactical strike missions. My Perseus, the Cloudpiercer, has been called up again for another one; still, I hope the Gayle gets to fly out for a mission as well.
I also hope that they soon manage to repair the docking ports around the star systems, or perhaps the issues lie with RSI and other manufacturers… They’re not really saying anything; there must be some kind of software issue or the like. But it has become quite a nuisance, having to fly the Gayle or other ships all the way to New Babbage, as I cannot dock them anymore anywhere in Nyx or even in many places in Stanton.
